Anyone who has a dog knows that you can't keep them couped up no matter what the weather is.  Happiness, tired, contemplative, inquisitive, and "the I know I'm in trouble," are written well on the faces of our boxers. But nothing is more noticeable than the "I'm bored." look.

The weather has been in the mid nineties and although I don't want to keep these girls in all day, I was hesitant to let them run around in the heat too.  But yesterday, as if they were children, I let them have at it with a garden hose.

Here is the result-

Indie going in for the bite

Ready! Aim!

Fire!

Harlem in Indie's moral support.

Getting the water splashes.....

....and making splashes!

Indie taking advantage of Harlem's divergence of attention.

Harlem's revenge.

This reminds me of some Roman statue. Not that I've ever been to Rome but one can imagine. I don't know maybe its the water that adds to it- like its some fountain? I admit I kinda want to throw pennies at this picture, and contemplate things.

Indie standing in the direct line of fire.

Coming in from the flanks.

Now from the rear.
ATTACK!

Harlem shaking the mud from her mouth,

The mud pit created from all the water. The muddy dogs created from the mud.

War paint.

I talk to her when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure she understands.  When she looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then she rubs her nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat.  For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never a friend like that.  ~W.
